East Point Velodrome Association (EPVA) is proud to announce it’s 2009 Pro Racing Series at the Dick Lane Velodrome (DLV) in East Point, GA. The new format for 2009 will take over where the Festival’s of Speed left off in 2008, to take racing at the DLV to the next level. Featuring current Olympians, future Olympians and all of our local stars, the stage is set for some fast and exciting racing.

Kazane / No Brakes presents ‘The Keirin’  ‘The Keirin’ will see the big boys go at it as 12 of the fastest cyclists in town, face off in a series of heats and finals. This event has it’s roots in Japan as a betting sport, and we’ll be keeping the tradition alive. ‘The Keirin’ will also feature our usual racing for all categories and will also feature the crowd favorite, Bicycle Little League kids racing and entertaining as they love to do. Outback Bikes presents ‘The Wheelrace’ The feature event for our second Pro Racing Series event will be ‘The Wheelrace’. A wheelrace is a handicap event, which will give everybody an equal chance of victory. Men, women, young, old, pro’s and joes will all have the opportunity to take the glory. The July heat will play a factor for this event, with temperature’s reaching towards the 100’s, add in 80% humidity and you’ll have the summer sizzling. Thomsen, Ltd. presents ‘The Madison’  One of the greatest events in US cycling history will make it’s way to the Dick Lane Velodrome in September for our third and final Pro Racing Series event for 2009. It’s roots can be traced back to Madison Square Gardens, the french call it, L’ Americaine ( The American), we call it ‘The Madison’. 10, Two man teams will sling each other around the track in a series of events to find out who has the most speed and endurance. The East Point Velodrome Association (EPVA) is an established 501c3 nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer board, which manages the Dick Lane Velodrome and provides youth and community services and a professional racing series. Through the EPVA’s active commitment to community riders and races, the growth of cycling continues in the Atlanta area.
