Bobby ‘getting hyphy‘ on bike number one, his Sillgey Piccolo. Its got 4130 double butted cro-moly tubing and is designed to run 20 1-1/8″ (451 ISO) wheels, and 120mm spaced rear hubs. The Piccolo comes in only one size (48cm seat tube, 54.5cm top tube, and a massive 29cm head tube) but eight different colors. Black, Pearl White, Green, Yellow, Neon Pink, Neon Green, Blue, and Purple.
Sillgey makes some rad bikes. Look for ’em soon at No Brakes!
Next up is bike number two, a tribute build. A customized Bianchi Pista we were honored to help out with. I didn’t know that “white is the new Orange“!
Orange amplifiers are real sick and and so is this bike.
For more photos of the build go here.
The third highlighted bike belongs to Bennet van der Genugten, a member Kenda Pro Cycling Team presented by Spinergy. Bennet is a friend and former teammate of our mate Jeff Hopkins. The two stopped by on Saturday to assemble Bennet’s new Masi Coltello for some track time down at Dick Lane to gear up for the Southern Games at Guaracara Park in Trinidad and Tobago where he’ll bring the hammer down. Speaking of hammers, while visiting the “Dirty South’ Bennet got a taste of how metal Atlanta really is.
Good Luck at the Southern Games!
The last two sessioned Beginner’s Track Class is this weekend! Attn. women cyclists: Southeast Women’s Cyclist’s is offering a 20 dollar di$count! If you’ve never ridden or raced on the track before, do it now. The season begins April 1st. Get certified just in time!
And, the portion of this post I know you have been waiting for….
That is a titskull, a tattoo courtesy of the talented artist Russ Abbott. This specific species of skull is a hallowed mark of distinction. One that separates a solemn and venerable chosen few from the teeming sea of individuals, who aimlessly greeting each day ignorantly deprived of the true friendship, of the true brotherhood and of true, well… titskulls that are shared by those present at the bachilar party.
Pictured above is the Groom to be, Kyle Ary. He is a brother of all those here at No Brakes, a championed home invader destroyer, track bike tourer and all around good guy. During the day he’s a superb stylist at Technical Art Salon and the successful shop manager of the one and only Ink & Dagger Tattoo Parlour. Kyle will be marrying the love of his life Lindsay very soon, so we had to celebrate. Among those present at the party:
Bobby Costello of Costello Frames & Paints.
Justin ‘Shop Keep’ Cannon of No Brakes Atlanta
Yours truly of No Brakes & ALTA Language Services and Josh Frank of Peachtree bikes.
Jason ‘Shakes’ Monroe, the proud owner of the afore-pictured Titskull.
