Yesterday’s racing began with a somber start.
All riders conducted the organized pacelines in silence with black armbands…
…in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.
More about this ride of respect & awareness can be found at rideofsilence.org
The racing picked up quick and I only really had a chance to snap several shots of the B field.
The A field was blasted by visiting PRO Phil Gaimon of KENDA Pro Cycling presented by GEARGRINDER
Phil also coaches and runs sharethedamnroad.com. Nice to meet you Phil & I failed to get an action shot!
The Fulton Flyers were out in force and some sweet new kits! Looking sharp!
Pictured left is Lamar Mauney, president of the Fulton Flyers Development Cycling Club.
FFCC is a non-profit dedicated to the athletic development of young cyclists, and provides financial support
for those riders to attend national and international competitions.
Since 1997, the FFCC has been a driving force in development cycling giving countless young racers the
support and guidance to grow and excel in cycling. Look out for big things from this team in 2010!
One former Flyer turned PRO is Oscar Clark. Here‘s a recent GSU interview with him mentioning his roots.
Results for the evening are here, more photos here and last week’s recap is here.
See everyone next week!
